RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is the equivalent of a non-contact barcode. An RFID setup enables simultaneous reading of all the tags in a given area based on the range of the reader and type of tag. Automatic order fulfillment works as follows: When a product is removed from its location, the RFID reader in that area sends the information to the procurement side of an operation. This real-time reorder data ensures that the correct product mix is always available.
